3 Must-Attend MS Walks & Events in 2017

This is a big year for MS walks and events. Numerous organizations have already started planning MS walks and events in 2017, and it can be difficult to know which events you should attend. We’ve compiled a list of the 3 must-attend MS walks and events of 2017 so that you can get started planning your attendance.

Walk MS

If you are looking for an MS walk to attend in 2017, you should definitely check out Walk MS. Walk MS has been around since 1988 and holds charitable walks in over 550 locations each year. These walks for MS have raised over $970 million dollars for MS research. The best part about Walk MS is that it is accessible to all people. There are numerous distance options, including a one mile option. Volunteers are there to help support walkers, and information about National MS Society services will be available as well. Because they sponsor so many walks each year, there is sure to be one close to you. Find your location here.

Challenge Walk MS

Are you looking for something “bigger” than a walk? Challenge Walk MS is a 2-3 day 30-50 mile walk that is fully supported by volunteer drivers, cooks, and helpers. During this challenging journey, you will bond with other walkers, prove your own strength and endurance to yourself, and most importantly, make a lasting change in the lives of those living with MS. There is a minimum fundraising limit set for these events, but they provide amazing support to help you meet your goal and train for the actual walk. Like Walk MS, Challenge Walk MS is held in many locations throughout the year so finding one near you shouldn’t be a problem.

Ski for MS

Maybe walking just isn’t your thing. Thankfully, there are other options out there for MS events. Ski for MS is set up just like a charitable walk, except that you get to ski instead of walking. There are nine different locations you can choose from in order to participate. Once you sign up, you create your team and raise money. Then, you show up for a day long ski event followed by an exciting after party. They even have an adaptive ski program for people living with MS. All proceeds benefit Can Do MS, a national nonprofit organization delivering educational health and wellness programs for families with MS..

These 3 must-attend walks and events are sure to be the highlight of 2017. Which one are you excited to be a part of?
